Join us live from the Amazon this Saturday, October 9th at 12 pm (PST), for an online fundraiser to support Chief Mapu’s Huwa Karu Yuxibu Center.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The social project of the Huwa Karu Yuxibu Center serves 40 native families in a total of 210 people (children, adults and elderly) who are in social vulnerability in the city of Rio Branco – Acre. The project aims to strengthen the cultural identity of the Huni Kuin people.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Target priorities at this time:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) Food Security – improvement of the two fish ponds and purchase of fish for farming; and structure for raising chickens⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) Material and labor to enclose an area of the Huwa Karu Yuxibu Center for the safety of the families served by the project⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) Construction of 20 accommodations for native families who are vulnerable and for native students served by the project⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
