What we put into our body is very important. It determines how we feel, how our body regulates moods, it changes our hormone levels, it changes our prana (energy levels.)

The first 8 Limbs of Yoga is our Yamas (our Restraint). Under our Yamas is our:

  • Ahima (Non-Harming) –Treat others how you would want to be treated
  • Satya (Truth-Telling)- Be honest with yourself, do you really need this? Why are you doing this? Is it for the right reason?
  • Brahmacharya (Moderation)-Everything in Moderation. There are some things that may be ok for your body, or some foods that you may need to survive. It’s also very hard in this day and age to take out dairy from our foods, a lot is processed. Eating minimally processed foods is best.
  • Asteya (Non-Stealing)- There is not a big connection here with food, although, are you at a point that you are stealing food? Why or how did it get to this point? Acknowledgement
  • Aparigraha (Non-Attachment)- Finding that you can separate from foods instead of using them to cope with emotions. Finding better ways to deal with emotions and attachment issues.

This is only the beginning of the real spiritual work that goes with the will power, the strength from the solar plexus, and looking inward on your soul healing.

Living a plant based life for the past 4 years has been the best change that I ever took. I started to realize what bad habits I had made with my foods. I couldn’t decide when I was really hungry and then what to eat, that wasn’t too healthy either. I started to make small changes every day over the last several years, in my own time, I have come to a plant-based diet. I was pregnant with my 3rd child staying plant-based, all through nursing him for 1 year (no problems at all), and still to this day. Through many struggles in my life, food no longer had control over my life’s decisions.

If you’re having questions as to why you may need to change how you eat. This is where you can start! We can sit down together and talk about your current eating habits and see how to start to make daily positive changes to sustain a better eating lifestyle. Continue to message through daily, reconnect with any questions you may have, and email weekly with updates, meeting once a month or sooner to make sure that you’re still on track.

I encourage all my clients to go plant-based/vegan. There is a healthy and sustainable way about going through this lifestyle change. Realizing first that it is a lifestyle change, is the very first step to continue. I can help you find ways to start going plant-based yourself, and if you have a family, I also have ways you can help them go plant-based as well, and learn to love the change, and see the health benefits as you continue.

Everyone’s meal plan is different and custom to each person. Everyone’s body and needs are completely different. So, there is no set meal plan. I don’t really believe in making meal plans. I can give you recipe ideas and a basic guidelines of how to stay plant-based. Following the guideline of the different options you have for each meal.
